The Recipe

Brazilian Rice Recipe Ingredients:
1 cup of white rice (agulhinha type) 2 cups of water 1/2 medium chopped onion 1 crushed garlic clove 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or olive oil Salt to taste Preparation: In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
Add the garlic and sauté for another minute, being careful not to burn it.
Add the rice and stir well to incorporate the flavor of the onion and garlic.
Add two cups of water and a pinch of salt.
Stir lightly, cover the pan and let cook over low heat for approximately 15 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the rice is tender.
Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Special tip: For an extra touch, you can add a bay leaf during cooking or replace part of the water with homemade vegetable broth.
